Privacy policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
UtilityRateWatch is a free informational website. We collect as little personal information as we can. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Email alerts
If you sign up for alerts, we store:
- your email address;
- the utilities you chose;
- when you signed up and when you confirmed.
We use this only to send the alerts you asked for, plus a confirmation email. We never sell or rent your email address or share it for marketing. Every alert includes a one-click unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we delete your address from our subscriber list. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.
Subscriber data is stored with our database provider (Neon), and emails are sent through our email provider (Resend). Both process the data only on our behalf.
Abuse prevention
To limit automated sign-ups, the sign-up form records a one-way hash of your IP address for a short time. We don't store the IP address itself.
Analytics and cookies
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors. We don't run advertising or third-party tracking today. If that changes, we'll update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability. These logs are kept for a limited period.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any alert. To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, contact us.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
