Entergy Louisiana's annual formula rate plan (FRP) filing for 2025 showed a 9.63% earned return, inside its allowed band, so base FRP revenue stayed flat. Other FRP mechanisms raised revenue by about $222M, and new rates began with September 2026 bills, subject to refund after LPSC review. In June 2026 Entergy also asked the LPSC for a one-year FRP extension.

Utility's stated reasons

  • grid plant additions, including Winter Storm Fern repairs
  • expiration of customer credits from the 2024 settlement
  • smaller tax-related credits
  • added capacity costs and final nuclear depreciation step

The FRP filing for 2024 showed a 9.98% earned return, inside the band; earnings above the 9.7% midpoint ($31.9M) were credited in September-October 2025 bills. Entergy's notice described a net FRP revenue decrease of about $189M, driven by MISO and tax credits, effective September 2025. The LPSC accepted a joint staff-company report closing its review in January 2026.

Utility's stated reasons

  • higher MISO market credits
  • Louisiana corporate income tax cut passed back to customers
  • one-time credit of 2024 earnings above the 9.7% midpoint
  • offset in part by transmission and distribution additions

In April 2024 the LPSC approved about $1.9B of grid hardening over five years, recovered through a separate rider updated twice a year. • vegetation management and telecom upgrades
  • lower future storm restoration costs
