The PUCO approved AEP Ohio's four-year electric security plan starting June 1, 2024. Default supply stays auction-based, and AEP can recover capped yearly distribution investments through riders; the PUCO said distribution-related charges would rise about $1.50 a year over the term. The 2026 rate case settlement raised those rider caps.
